Rice Riot in Taicho period

About 90years ago in Japan before Shohwa period,there was one historical big riot that has spread throughout Japan which we call "Rice Riot".At first it broke out in only a small local village where housewives had complaint about tough high tax of crops and visited the municipal office.However,this news spread to other areas and escalated to more violent protest like breaking offices or rice warehouse by those who had same complaint.This was the first movement by citizen after Samurai period and later it had developed to bigger tidal wave what we call Taicho democracy,where citizen has got the right to vote for the Diet election etc.Few people knows that first trigger of this revolution was first made by unknown villagers.　We call it power by the powerless.
